Sociology Grad Passes Social Work Licensure Exam
Congratulations to our alum Sarah Womble for passing her social work licensure exam in February 2019; she is now a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). Sarah graduated from Georgia Southern with a BS in sociology in December 2015 and earned her MSW from Valdosta State University in May 2017. She works as a hospice social worker at Bethany Hospice and Palliative Care in Claxton, GA. Sarah enjoys her career and credits Georgia Southern with helping her develop strong research skills.
“I enjoy my work as a hospice social worker. My job is tough and involves being emotionally available to my clients all the time. I have to use self care a lot. However, it’s so rewarding. With the research background Georgia Southernhelped foster, I look for the best methods of helping my clients through one of the toughest times in their lives. It’s truly a gift to take care of my patients.”
