Dr. Bridgman Sweeney Joins Department

Dr. Dr. Kara Bridgman Sweeney

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Kara Bridgman Sweeney will be joining our department this August as a lecturer or anthropology on the Armstrong campus. Dr. Bridgman Sweeney is an experienced educator, has extensive experience doing cultural resource management work in the Southeast, and has conducted public outreach work in Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida. 

Dr. Sweeney earned a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Florida, an MA in Archaeology from University College Cork in Ireland, and a BA in Anthropology from the University of South Carolina. 

In addition to teaching on the Armstrong campus, Dr. Sweeney will be running the Digging Savannah initiative.
