Ryan Couillou received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia, Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Western Carolina University, and a doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Georgia. He is a licensed psychologist in the state of Georgia since 2014 and has worked in a variety of applied settings including mental health counseling and disability services within universities and counseling and assessment with juvenile offenders. He joined the Georgia Southern psychology department as visiting faculty in 2017 and is currently a tenure-track assistant professor. His teaching interests include practicum, abnormal psychology, trauma, ethics, assessment, and counseling theory. In addition, he co-leads The REFLECT Program which provides a variety of consultation, outreach, and research services to the community. His current research interests include action-based research and public perception of police use of force.
