Jeff Klibert graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2008 with Doctor of Philosophy degree in Counseling Psychology. He is a licensed psychologist in the state of Georgia. His primary teaching interests include: multicultural psychology, personality assessment, psychopathology, positive psychology, and adolescent development. In terms of research, he is particularly interested in examining protective factors for suicide, the effects of positive emotion regulation strategies (e.g., savoring) on wellness, and strength-based methods of promoting well-being in the face of adversity. As a clinician, he uses a variety of empirically validated and culturally informed approaches to help clients overcome adversity and build well-being resources in treatment. He has clinical experience with individual, couple, and family psychotherapy and integrated assessment practices. He also demonstrates a commitment to social justice, especially in working alongside ethnic, gender and sexual minorities and individuals from rural and lower SES backgrounds.
