Dorthie Cross earned a BA in Psychology from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville and an MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Emory University. She completed her predoctoral clinical internship year at the Charles George (Asheville) VA Medical Center and a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Emory School of Medicine. Her research explores the relationships among chronic and traumatic stress exposure, stress-related psychopathology, and transdiagnostic processes, such as emotion regulation. In addition to conducting research, Dr. Cross teaches undergraduate and graduate psychology courses on psychometrics, psychotherapy, rurality, religion, ethics, and other topics.
