Biography

Claire Halliburton received her B.S. in Criminal Justice and Criminology from Georgia Southern University in 2018. While completing her degree, she attended the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC) based in Garden City, GA where she became a P.O.S.T. Certified Law Enforcement Officer. Ms. Halliburton went on to become a police officer for the Savannah Police Department’s Northwest (Downtown) Precinct. 

Ms. Halliburton then went on to receive her M.S. in Criminal Justice and Criminology in 2020 from Georgia Southern University. Her thesis Compliance with Police: Does the Interaction of Race/Ethnicity and Sex Matter? researched the factors that affect someone’s willingness to comply with police requests. 

As a double eagle, Ms. Halliburton is excited to be back at GSU and share her experiences with current and future students.
