Division of Cybercrime Approved by the American Society of Criminology
The American Society of Criminology (ASC) approved the creation of the Division of Cybercrime on November 12, 2019. Dr. Adam Bossler, Professor and Chair of the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Georgia Southern University, worked with Drs. Thomas Holt (Michigan State University) and Kyung-shick Choi (Boston University) to establish the Division by obtaining 99 signed petitions from active, non-student members of the American Society of Criminology and by writing the Division’s Constitution and Bylaws. The Division had its first meeting at ASC on November 15, 2019. The room was full to capacity with standing room only. Drs. Bossler, Holt, and Choi will remain on the Executive Board of the Division until elections are held for President, Vice-President, and Executive Counselors, which will go into effect for the November 2020 meetings.
