Faculty Tenured and Promoted
Dr. Laurie Gould has been promoted to Associate Professor with tenure, and Dr. Bryan Miller was awarded tenure. Dr. Gould received her Ph.D. in Public Affairs from the University of Central Florida in 2008. Her dissertation examined classification and supervision issues for female offenders in the community corrections setting. She has published on a variety of topics in corrections including the use of corporal punishment by the international community and the supervision of female offenders in the community.
Dr. Miller earned his Ph.D. from the University of Florida, and his research and teaching interests are in criminological theory, criminal justice policy, drug use and policy, and offender reentry and reintegration. He currently serves as the graduate coordinator for the criminal justice and criminology concentration in the Master of Arts in Social Science program and was the recipient of the 2014 Georgia Southern University Award of Excellence in Contributions to Instruction.
