CBSS Inclusion

Mission and Commitment
The purpose of the CBSS Inclusion Committee (CBSSI) is to work to advance an equitable, diverse, and inclusive college community in support of educating our diverse student body for global citizenship. Recognizing that the CBSS faculty, staff, and student bodies are part of a larger community consisting of various racial, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds; gender, gender identities, and sexual orientations; national and religious affiliations; socioeconomic backgrounds; persons with varying abilities; and individuals with current or past military backgrounds, we will utilize a holistic approach to diversity and inclusiveness, reflecting the various diversities that exist within the Georgia Southern community. We recommend and engage in activities designed to create a college environment where all members feel respected, supported, and valued; are treated fairly, and are encouraged to be held accountable for contributing to an inclusive college community.
Vision
In alignment with Georgia Southern’s Strategic Plan and the Inclusive Excellence Action Plan, CBSSI envisions a diverse and inclusive college community where each and every member is respected, supported, and valued; treated equitably; and is encouraged to be held accountable for creating a safe environment For. Us. ALL.

Georgia Southern Faculty Handbook – 404.03 Affirmative Action Program
“All employees are expected to make every reasonable effort to carry out their affirmative action responsibilities, to demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for all other employees, and to demonstrate commitment to the University’s affirmative action and equal opportunity objectives. The University’s goal continues to be an Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity Policy which addresses the imbalances in its female and minority workforce relative to the demographics of regional and national labor markets.” For more information, please visit: https://digitalcommons.georgiasouthern.edu/fac-handbook/21/
