Georgia Southern Celebrates Constitution Day with Poster Competition, Speakers

Georgia Southern University will host a two-day celebration of the signing of the United States Constitution Sept. 14-15.

The Constitution Day Celebration begins with a Poster Competition on Sept. 14 at 4 p.m. in the Carroll Building Atrium where students will compete for cash prizes of $500 by illustrating the role of the courts in a free society.

Students can sign up or get more information at the Department of Political Science and International Studies office located in the Carroll Building.

The celebration concludes with Georgia Southern faculty experts presenting on the Constitution and its evolution at the Carol A. Carter Recital Hall on Sept. 15 at 6 p.m.

The winners of the Poster Competition will be announced and a dessert reception will follow the speakers.

The Constitution Day Celebration is sponsored by the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology, Department of Political Science and International Studies, National Association of Women Judges, Office of Pre-Law Advising, and Zach S. Henderson Library.
